Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Parents have the best behavior. These traits are passed onto their puppies who are also very friendly and love people. Our puppies are socialised numerous times during the day with people, children, additional dogs, cats and other farm animals. Our puppy curriculum includes Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)…
Health
Our health goals for our puppies are gold standard. Our breeding mums and dads are extensively health tested via DNA to exclude over 30 hereditary issues and identify colour gene and coat types. All parents undergo extensive xrays to ascertain Hip and elbow scores in-line with the ANKC Best Breeding Practises.…
Home environment
Puppies grow up on a 75acre farm in a family environment. Our puppies are exercised numerous times a day throughout our farm and paddocks and get to experience a large range of noises and surfaces. During the evenings they are inside being cuddled when they are not sleeping. Our farm also operates an Equine Therapy…
Included with our puppies
Puppy pack will include detailed puppy care book. Feed regime and sample foods. Medical history, veterinary health checks, Microchip Record and a teddy bear who has been with the litter from 3 weeks of age which possesses the smells of litter mates to assist with transition into the new family.

Genetic Test
Canine Elliptocytosis is a rare genetic disease causing the red blood cells to be abnormally elliptical in shape, rather than round. It generally does not cause a clinical problem to affected dogs, but puppies may be mildly anaemic and smaller than others. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Congenital eye malformations in Golden Retrievers result from a mutation of the SIX6 gene. These malformations can present as a range of different eye conditions, ranging from poor vision to blindness in one or both eyes. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying the affected gene.
Genetic Test
Dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB) is a congenital skin disease that causes fragile skin, blisters, ulceration, and skin scarring. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
GM2 gangliosidosis is a lysosomal storage disorder that causes neurological problems. There are a few different types of this disease affecting different breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
This is a serious genetic skin disease that causes flaky dry skin and footpad problems. It can occur in many breeds but is fairly common in Golden Retrievers. There is a DNA test to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease and could pass it on to their puppies.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis (NCL) is a neurodegenerative disorder found in many breeds of dog. 7 varieties have been identified so far, affecting different breeds. There are DNA tests for each type, to identify whether a breeding dog might be carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Neonatal Encephalopathy (NE) is a brain disease that can occur in Standard Poodle puppies. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteochondrodysplasias are a group of rare genetic diseases that cause problems with connective tissue, cartilage, or bone development. They commonly cause dwarfism and movement disorders. There is a DNA test available in some breeds to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), also known as ‘brittle bone disease’, is an inherited disease in both humans and animals, causing bone fragility and fracturing. As it is a genetic disease, breeding parents can be tested to ensure it is not passed onto their puppies.
Genetic Test
Von Willebrand’s Disease (VWD/vWD) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by a lack of a specific clotting factor. There are three forms of the disease, types 1, 2 & 3. A DNA test is available for each type of VWD to identify whether a breeding dog is a carrier or might be affected. The severity of VWD varies widely between breeds and individuals, ranging from life threatening, through to having no impact on clotting ability.
