Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
To date, these pups have displayed a confident nature which is relevant to the breed.
Health
The parents have been Confirmation Shown, earned their Championship status, and heath screened and tested. These records are openly available for viewing to potential future puppy buyers. Prior to Bloodmoon5 litter, the Dam, (mother), was monitored for 24 hrs, and she gave birth naturally. Given her inherent innate…
Home environment
All the pups have been raised in a loving home environment. They were constantly monitored via a live camera for 24hrs, and physically checked every 1hr.
Included with our puppies
These puppies will be sold on an ANKC limited registration (meaning they can't be sold for breeding purposes). • They will be wormed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, sterilised, vet checked, 6 weeks' puppy insurance, and formally registered, prior to leaving. • You will receive instructions on…

KIRASNATURE Akita (Japanese) conducts 1 additional tests available for the Akita.
Physical Test
An eye certificate means the breeder has had their breeding dogs examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist, to confirm they are not affected by any eye conditions which may be passed down genetically to their puppies. If relevant for the breed, it also includes running DNA tests to confirm the dog is not a genetic carrier of hereditary eye diseases, such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). It includes breeders who have participated in the Australian Canine Eye Scheme (ACES).

About the Breeder
A little about us
I have owned 6 Akita's, for some 30 years + now, ( Queen Rachel, Maxx, Madam Kira, Miss Anika, Mater Shiro & Yoro). My current three JAPANESE Akita's are the centre of my world and always by my side xox. Both the ANKC standards for the the two distinctive breed standards, ( Gp 6), outline that they do have an…
Why we got involved in breeding
In addition to my reasons 'as above', KIRASNATURE evolved out of my dearly departed adult son and his love of Madam Kira. I showed Shiro & Yoro leading to their Championship tittle's also to honour my sons life, obtained my Prefix to reflect Madam Kira's beautiful calm nature, and waited to follow a dream. My goal…
Our special touch
Personally, once you have owned this devoted, intelligent loyal breed, not only do they leave such a big broken heart upon you, it may take time before your ready for another Akita.

Breeding since
I have been a Dogs SA member for well over 6 years now and shown two of my dogs to their Championship status. Due to the beautiful nature of my last dearly departed American Akita, ( Madam Kira), my adult sons love of her, I obtained my ANKC Dogs SA, Prefix to honour both Kira and my son. I ensured ALL my three current dogs are fed a high-quality diet of grain free kibble, raw food, and supplements for their optimal health. Both of my breeding dogs were tested for their hip scores, their eyes tested on three occasions, and I waited till my dogs reached an age to breed, ( 5 1/2 & 3 1/2 years). They also were Vet checked prior to breeding, (these test/screening outcomes available to genuinely interested parties).
