Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
Our puppies are raised as part of the family and handled by children daily. They are socialised with our own dogs at home to keep them safe in the early stages. They are exposed to daily household noises and smells both inside and outside to ensure a smooth transition to their new home. We begin the early stages…
Health
Our adult dogs and any outside studs used are DNA tested (through Orivet and OFA) and Vet health checked. Our aim is to produce healthy, well tempered, quality puppies. They are fed a premium hybrid raw diet of raw meat, veg, fruit ( BARF ) and Blackhawk puppy kibble
Home environment
Adult dogs and Puppies are raised as part of the family they have access to both inside and outside the home. Our adult dogs enjoy their walks, swimming at the beach and going for car rides.

Genetic Test
Acral Mutilation Syndrome (AMS) is a genetic disease that causes affected dogs to compulsively lick, overgroom and bite their paws. This can cause recurrent injuries and infections. The condition can be extreme and even result in the dog being euthanised if the signs cannot be controlled.
Genetic Test
This is a rare genetic disease affecting Cocker Spaniels. It can cause wobbliness and incoordination in the hindlimbs, with eventual progression to paralysis and difficulty breathing. It usually only affects older dogs and progression is slow over several years. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Bernard-Soulier Syndrome (BSS) is a genetic bleeding disorder caused by abnormally large platelets in low numbers, meaning an affected animal cannot form clots properly after tissue damage. It can lead to life-threatening bleeding issues following surgery or injury. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
Genetic Test
Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) is a genetic condition mainly affecting Retrievers and Spaniels. It results in the dog collapsing after periods of intense exercise, even if they are normally able to cope with lower levels of exercise. There is a DNA test available which can indicate if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Canine Phosphofructokinase (PFK) Deficiency is a genetic disease resulting in low levels of the PFK enzyme. It can result in extreme muscle fatigue, muscle cramping and severe anaemia. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.
