About the Breeder

A little about us

My name is Theresa and welcome to Shih Tzu Companion Breeder. I am a small hobby breeder who is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of my parent doggies and all my puppies that come into our program. I began breeding in 2003, starting off with Shih Tzus and Pomeranians then in 2016 I breed Labradors for assistance…

Why we got involved in breeding

I Love Shih Tzus and their temperament. As I use the same training on my Shih Tzu puppies as I have used on the labrador assistance dogs I find the Shih Tzu personality are advanced and enriched by this type of training. As a breed, they are perfect for families and people wanting affection and companionship.

Our special touch

I invest in ensuring our breeding dogs are healthy and sound, in addition ensuring all our puppies go through the puppy culture program and have Early Neurological Stimulation training and we ensure all puppies are well-adjusted and ready to go home to their owner. I also offer lifetime ongoing support with lots of…

Applying for a puppy

Apply for a puppy by answering a few questions so Theresa can get to know you.
A$3,900 - A$4,500

All owners will get a puppy pack, as detailed in breeding practices. A $500 deposit is required to be paid at puppy selection to secure that puppy. Choosing the puppy: usually this is a mix of you providing your preference on what puppy you would like, and based on a recommendation of puppies that I think would match well with the owner, based on personalities and household dynamics. Puppies come to new homes with basic training in place with toileting, sitting, manding, feeding routines, grooming and bathing work, loud sounds desensitisation work and many exposures as safe as possible. They will come with a puppy pack full of all you need to help your puppy settle into their new home easier. You will also receive some training videos and my ongoing help and an information pack and 30 day free pet insurance has been arranged for you and your new puppy from take home date. Alot of time and care is taken to make sure this transition is easier for both puppy and new family so puppy will be a positive forever addition to your family.
