Newborn litter

Pups ready to go home in 2 months

Hi, I'm Kerry C.

Our Labradors are family, an important part of our large family. We live on a riverfront acreage near Tweed Heads where our dogs have room to run, play, swim, sniff and be dogs. Our breeding dogs are genetically tested and hip and elbow scored and our retired dogs live out their lives with us. We couldn’t part with…

Our Breeding Practices

Behaviour and socialisation

Our puppies are raised in our home, usually in the lounge room where they are a part of daily life and get used to noise, people (including our 12 yr old twins and our grandchildren) and other animals. We start early neurological stimulation at just a few days of age.

Health

We have our own in house vets (our daughters), so our puppies are vet checked very regularly! We vaccinate and microchip at 6 weeks at home and don’t allow visitors until this time.

Home environment

Our dogs live in and around our Queenslander, having their beds on the decks. Puppies are raised inside for the first 4 weeks before moving to either ‘puppy play land’, an undercover playground or a grassed, shady pen at the front of our property.

Included with our puppies

Our puppies go to their new home with Pedigree Papers on the Limited Register (Mains by negotiation), 4 weeks free pet insurance with either Trupanion, raw food for a few days and a puppy pack.

dna iconGenetic Test

Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (CMS) is genetic disease that causes extreme muscle weakness after just a short amount of exercise. It can result in puppies or dogs who collapse after only five to thirty minutes of exercise. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

This condition mainly affects Newfoundlands although other breeds can be affected. It is a genetic condition which results in the production of kidney and bladder stones. There is a DNA test available to confirm that breeding dogs are not carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

dna iconGenetic Test

Hyperuricosuria (HUU) is a genetic disease that causes a build-up of uric acid in the urine, predisposing to painful bladder and kidney stones. It can occur in a range of breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease.

dna iconGenetic Test

Macular Corneal Dystrophy (MCD) is a rare genetic eye disease that has been identified in Labradors. It causes cloudy eyes and potential vision impairment. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Narcolepsy is a genetic disease which causes affected animals to fall asleep suddenly following periods of excitement, such a feeding or play. These dogs might collapse and appear drowsy or might completely fall asleep. They usually grow out of the condition after about one year of age. There is a DNA test available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

dna iconGenetic Test

Stargardt Disease, also known as Juvenile Macular Degeneration, is a genetic eye disease that causes gradual degeneration of the retina. This can cause blurred vision and difficulty seeing when moving quickly from bright to low light. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder

A little about us

I had a Labrador when I was 13. He was with me until I was 26. That boy got me through a lot of years, high school, Uni, boyfriends and marriage. How could I love and breed any dog other than Labradors? For 45 years Labradors have been a part of my family.

Why we got involved in breeding

I originally started breeding because of my love for the breed. Being able to share that love through well bred, healthy dogs is the reason I continue breeding.

Our special touch

We have a unique knack of breeding calm, trainable, healthy Labradors. Our dogs are favoured for training as companion dogs for children with disabilities, PTSD therapy dogs and Education Assistance Dogs for schools
