I fell in love with Dachshunds 8 and a half years ago and haven't looked back, they are quite a specific breed but that's what I love most about them, they have such a quirky nature and will shower you in so much love. Our dogs are first and foremost part of our family (furry humans I like to call them), and are inside dogs. They have their own crate to sleep in at night which is in our bedroom and get to come up for cuddles with us in the morning. We don't house our dogs in outside kennels, everyone sleeps inside with us and same with our puppies. Our puppies have their own room in the house, which is where we keep their whelping area. We only allow the Mum in there for the first few weeks and once they are old enough to play that is when we take them outside on the grass and introduce them to Dad. We take our dogs everywhere with us, so much so that we actually don't go to things if our dogs can't come with us. When we holiday it is to places where we can drive to. Our dogs love exploring, camping, fishing and anything to do with the water.
