Health Tests
Core Tests(0/1)
LuHund Swedish Vallhunds conducts 0 out of 1 core health tests which RightPaw believe are most important to conduct for the Swedish Vallhund.
Additional Tests
LuHund Swedish Vallhunds conducts 2 additional tests available for the Swedish Vallhund.
Genetic Test
Hyperuricosuria (HUU) is a genetic disease that causes a build-up of uric acid in the urine, predisposing to painful bladder and kidney stones. It can occur in a range of breeds. There is a DNA test available to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Retinopathy is disease of the retina, at the back of the eye. It can result in deterioration of eyesight or even blindness. A specific type of retinopathy has been identified in Swedish Vallhunds, which is similar to Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) that occurs in many breeds. There is a now a genetic test to identify whether a dog is carrying the gene related to this retinopathy.
