Our Breeding Practices
Behaviour and socialisation
We follow a strict curriculum developed over many years of raising puppies. We raise the puppies as one of the family but we also ensure that our puppies live with the adult dogs from week 7. This ensures puppies are well versed in social hierarchies. We also have grand children :)
Health
Our breeding dogs are all DNA tested and have full Orivet DNA health clearance.
Home environment
We have always had dogs. Annette Hull was breeding and showing dogs as far back as 1968. Dogs are a part of our family and always will be.
Included with our puppies
We provide a full starting kit; including, puppy toy, blanket, collar, lead, puppy raising information and if you need a starter kit of puppy food. :)

Additional Tests
Par Annette Miniature Poodles conducts 4 additional tests available for the Miniature Poodle.
Genetic Test
Chondrodystrophy (CDDY) is a condition causing abnormal development of cartilage. Many breeds are prone to this condition, especially short-legged breeds. CDDY makes a dog high risk for developing Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), or ‘slipped discs’ in their spine. There is a DNA test available to identify if a dog is carrying genes making their puppies higher risk for CDDY/IVDD.
Genetic Test
This is a disease affecting the spinal cord of older dogs, initially causing wobbliness and eventually hindlimb paralysis. It can affect a wide range of breeds. There is now a DNA test that can indicated if a breeding dog is carrying this disease.
Genetic Test
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a genetic lysosomal storage disease that can cause various problems including stunted growth and bone deformities. There are a few different variants of this disease that have been identified in different breeds. For many breeds there are DNA tests available to identify if a breeding dog is carrying the condition.
Genetic Test
Osteochondrodysplasias are a group of rare genetic diseases that cause problems with connective tissue, cartilage, or bone development. They commonly cause dwarfism and movement disorders. There is a DNA test available in some breeds to identify whether a breeding dog is carrying this condition.

About the Breeder
A little about us
Annette Hull and her husband Bruce Hull began breeding & showing purebred West Highland White Terriers in around 1968. At that time they were living on their 40,000 acre sheep and cattle property ‘Garlands Station’ at Bourke in Far Western New South Wales. Annette’s first show dog was a West Highland White Terrier…
Why we got involved in breeding
Annette wanted to show and breed dogs. She was an avid pet lover all her life. Even as a 4 year old she had a pet Sugar Glider and Kangaroos.
Our special touch
Annette was a dog lover. She had a great eye for dogs and was insistent on breeding for temperament first and foremost; regardless of the breed of dog. We carry on the tradition and insist on having great natured, and intelligent breeding dogs.
